I was going to make a post about how impressed I am by the heated toilet seats, motorized scooters, and working with people who were the authors of many text books that I had used in college, until I ran into this article online that pretty much sums up all I wanted to write.
If you want to find out why Google is such a great place for engineers, take a look at this article on businessweek.com.
If you find yourself interested in applying for a job there after reading this article, feel free to send me an email with your resume and the positions that you are interested in. I will be able to help refer you to the appropriate recruiter.
Have a good weekend, everyone!

Interesting Observation
Tonight I finally decided to take a look at how this blog has been performing during this past week. Surprisingly, my site is still getting some decent traffic despite the fact that I haven't updated this page for over a week. Let's take a look at some interesting results:
Here's where most of the users came from. As you can see, a lot of people searched for images on bush, and somehow it directed them to my website:

Microsoft's Virtual Earth slashdotted
This morning, slashdot announced the launching of Microsoft's version of maps, Virtual Earth. Two hours after, the site no longer works, creating another classic example of what slashdot can do to your site, even microsoft. ;)

Still alive...
Ok ok... I know I haven't updated my blog lately. I've been so busy with work I haven't even had time to browse any daily websites such as cnn, espn, slashdot, etc etc... As a result, I really don't have much to comment on, aside from the fact that I've been drugging myself up with lots and lots of diet coke lately so that I don't fall asleep.
Anyways, back to work.

Tiger wins British Open
Tiger won by a margin today at the British Open. While I'm truly impressed by what he has accomplished on course, I am even more impressed by what he has accomplished off the course. All I could think of this morning was how hot I think his wife is. Amazing there are nannys that look like her in Sweden.

Cool Videos on Google
When Google announced yesterday that you can now search for playable videos on their video site, it triggered my mind to think of interesting keywords to search for. Here are some of the keywords that I searched and the cool videos that I watched today:
keyword: fight

street fight - I never knew anyone in the world except Jackie Chan could take on multiple people at once!

hockey fight - They really should have gotten off the ice before fighting, since they were sliding all over the place!

backyard fight - This is the perfect place to fight without getting yourself arrested by cops. Future gangs should learn from this video.

fight - this was a pretty evenly matched fight, although at times it looked as if they were fighting like girls. Gotta love the headbutt though!

jedi fight - need I say more? this is a video of a mass group people who need serious psychological help.
keyword: soccer

Amazing soccer scene - yeah.

Even more amazing soccer scene - yeah^2
keyword: jin

What the !@#k?!?! WTF!
What is up with our new generation?
Back when I was a child, I would be really into playing the "hide and seek" game with my friends. Apparently, children nowadays enjoy playing the "passing out game" instead.

Losing more freedom
ZDNet: Cell Phones Blacked Out in NY Tunnels
According to the article:
So after the terrorists have bombed us with planes, they treat everyone like terrorists at airports; and now that the terrorists might have detonated bombs using cell phones, they treat all cell phone users as terrorists?!?!
Don't get me wrong here. I understand what our government is trying to do, but there are certain things they are doing that, even when being enforced, will not really stop the terrorists from attacking us. I actually applaud the british for saying "life goes on" after the London attacks, because what we are doing here is, ahem, pretty wussy.
Let's remember this - the United States has about 295 million people. The largest terrorist attack on US soil so far (9/11) killed approximately 3000 people. Based on that, assuming the terrorists have the same amount of interest in attacking any city/suburb in the US, you've got ~0.001017% chance of getting killed by a terrorist. So let's not get too sucked into the media with all the terror talks and just let us live our normal lives.

Cellular phone service has been shut off in four busy New York commuter tunnels since last week's deadly blasts in London, officials said on Monday.

The Office Yoga Ball
When Jenny moved back to New York, she left us with a yoga ball at the office. So three weeks ago, Rico and I came up with the idea to record ourselves having fun with the ball and sending the clips to Jenny.
The first shot taken of Rico "juggling" the ball with his legs. It turned out to be one of those America's Funniest Home Video candidates. I just got it uploaded to Google Video. Check it out!.

Paint Job Gone Bad
Last week, my parents spent over 20k to hire some chinese contractors to come redo our roof and repaint the entire house. Keeping in mind that I wanted the house to look different after the paint job, I chose this sandy color that's a bit darker than the current one, which is milky white (i think).
After one week of paint work, the color of the house looks exactly the same. I guess my parents should never have listened to me, since I'm color blind and all.

My Last Day at Work...
Alas, the time has come and today is my last day here at work. In some ways, I am quite mad because usually today is "Work-From-Home-Friday" for me. But today, I need to come back for my exit interview, and to return my laptop, security token, etc.
Since this is my first time leaving from a real job, I'm not quite sure what I should do before I leave. Am I supposed to leave my mark at my cube by writing invisible paragraphs on my desk using a highlighter, and send out a mail to the future cube resident five years later and tell him to turn off all the lights and turn on the black light to see what had been passed down to him in the cube?
All jokes aside, it is a very strange feeling to leave a place that I've considered home during my last four years. I have made so many good friends here that really molded me into who I am today. I am genuinely appreciative of the opportunities that were offered and am very grateful that I decided to accept an offer to work here four years ago. I guess as Steve Jobs said, it will be a new beginning for me, and I will hopefully be able to connect the dots by looking back in the future.
Speaking of Steve Jobs, why do all successful entrepreneurs have such a knack in motivating folks? I really thought the way he ended his commencement speech was great. "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish" will definitely be the motto that I will live by for the rest of my life...
